Dec. 31st, 2018 07:29 pmGreat things: I've found some homesteading and gardening books at the library I haven't read yet! I've already learned several new things and am brushing up on in-the-ground gardening! Huzzah!
Bad news: It's making me want to plant a garden now and if all goes well we'll be moving in 4-5 months (from 2nd story apartment to something ground level). I'll have garden space at the new location and I can definitely grow things at that point but the little kid in me is whining about how it is f.o.r.e.v.e.r from now.
Thanks to climate change we haven't gotten any bad frosts yet (I'm in deep South at the moment) so maybe I can plant some peas or lettuce--something quick to grow that will tide me over.
Really bad news: one of the books is from 1942 and contains Ye Olde Lingo. Luckily it hasn't been too bad, just the occasional bad word but still makes me wince.
