My Hands Hate Me but Mug Rugs Are Done!

And they're done! I'm blaming the lateness of presents this year on my illness. I mean, it's a valid excuse but still. I'm in the last stages of finishing the Dalek hat for my gift exchange buddy and then tomorrow morning, bright and early I'm going to buy a good coffee drink and stand in line at the post office to mail everything out.

Solstice (my winter holiday) was awesome--Errants stayed up all night with me to greet the dawn and we kept the lights on all night (our version of a fire since we live in a second story apartment with no fireplace).

In boring job news: I have a semi-interview lined up at a staffing agency for after Christmas--I actually had two different agents reach out to me. One for their medical job listings and one for...I think the actual staffing agency? I'll find out when I get there, lol. I've also found an article with some really great resume advice so after the post office if I'm still up for it I'm going to the botanical gardens or the library (whichever is open) and starting in on my new resume. I'm not particularly excited by the idea of job hunting and interviewing but I'm getting antsy being home all the time. This is the first time in something like a decade I haven't been employed around Christmas time and I'm Dying(tm) to get out of the house more.

Also, while we can pay bills with one income (which I am still SO grateful for), there's some extras that I cannot justify purchasing until I have steady income again. Like cosplay stuff. I'm in the last stages for Cimorene so I'm mentally moving ahead to the next cosplay to work on...like we're planning on being Planeswalkers for our big costumes this year and it's actually two costumes I have zero items for in my stashes.

We also have gijinka Gengar (him) and then either Gastly or Hex Maniac (me) but I have quite a lot of the supplies already. So I guess I can start on the pokemon first but the Planeswalkers are just going to be so damn cool I'm anxious to work on them. We're not sure how many, if any, conventions Errants can go to in 2019 (he's going to be working and doing full time schooling) so I'd like to get at least one duo cosplay done so he can have something to wear on the off-chance he can come with me to some of them.
